Board of Trustees Minutes
October 2, 2007

The monthly meeting of the CBMS Board of Trustees met on October 2, 2007 at 7:00 pm at CBMS.

Present: Dr. Barron, Kristin Skelly, Clay Hudson, Steve Stripling, Mark Whitlock, Joe Wagstaff, Beth Wagstaff.

Chairman Barron called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

Mark Whitlock motioned for the Agenda to be approved. Steve Stripling seconded.
Motion carried.
Steve Stripling motioned for the minutes from the August 7, 2007meeting to be approved. Mark Whitlock seconded. Motion carried.

Kristin Skelly presented the report from the Parent Advisory Board.
The back to school picnic was successful. Mentor program for new families is successful.
The first CBMSfest is scheduled for October 13, 2007. Plans are proceeding on schedule and brochures and T-shirts are printed.  

Beth Wagstaff, Chairperson of the PAB Fundraising Committee, presented the committee’s report on the 2007 Annual Fundraising Campaign. She presented the objectives, the campaign’s monetary goal, the outline and timeline of the campaign. The board recognized and thanked Beth and her committee for their commitment to the campaign.

Joe Wagstaff presented the financial report and the balance sheet for the school.
Steve motioned that both reports be accepted. Mark seconded. Motion carried.
Joe requested direction form the board as to a new auditor for the school. The board directed staff to send an RFP to several CPA firms in the area and report as to the results.

Clay Hudson motioned for the board to enter into executive session to discuss legal and financial matters. Steve seconded. Motion carried.
Board entered into executive session at 8:15 pm.
Board reentered into regular session at 8: 25 pm.

Clay motioned for the meeting to be adjourned. Mark seconded. Motion carried.
Meeting adjourned at 8:25pm.

The following Resolution passed 5-0 via e-mail in September:
Resolution: The administration recommends that our one year CD maturing at month end for $38,000 not be renew in the event that those monies are needed this school year.
